- Robust, load-optimized construction with through-pinned and backlash-free precision joint
- Head carefully rounded: no sharp edges that could damage the material
- Electrically discharging handles - dissipative
- High, slim sleeves for fine and comfortable gripping between thumb and index finger
- Uniform bending behavior for a more direct sense of work
- Smoothly ground gripping surfaces for damage-free gripping
- Low-friction double spring for smooth and even opening
- The mirror polish in combination with a fine oil film provides rust protection - no circuit faults caused by peeling chrome from plated tools
- Flat, wide jaws, smoothly ground gripping surfaces

In spring 2024, KNIPEX improved and completed its family of electronics pliers with box joint.
Thanks to optimised manufacturing processes, the gripping pliers in the 35 XX 115 and 35 XX 145 series are now even more robust, with a load-optimised design, a box joint and a mirror polish that is gentle on components.
Gripping pliers must fulfil very specific tasks when working on electronic components: among other things, they must be able to work on fine structures without damaging electronic components. The electronic gripping pliers from KNIPEX are designed precisely for this purpose: with a narrow head for optimum accessibility and with grip sleeves raised towards the head of the pliers for precision, comfortable gripping even in the ""tweezer grip"", i.e. between thumb and index finger. A low-friction double spring provides support during repeated gripping operations, ensuring smooth and even opening. All edges, especially on the outside of the heads of the pliers, are carefully rounded, so there are no sharp edges that could damage the material. Incidentally, all electronic gripping pliers with a box joint have one more thing in common: the surface of their pliers heads is mirror-polished, i.e. deliberately not chrome-plated: even after years of intensive work, this ensures that no chrome parts flake off the gripping pliers, causing faults in circuits. KNIPEX offers the ideal gripping pliers for practically all applications in electronics and precision mechanics: with flat, wide jaws such as the 35 11 115, with short, round jaws such as the 35 31 115 or long, half-round jaws such as the 35 62 145. The last number of the article number also indicates the length of the tools in millimetres. The smaller ones enable high precision work to be done, while the larger ones also allow deeper components to be gripped.
ESD pliers have a special status.
They offer additional protection thanks to their electrically dissipative handles: they gently dissipate electrostatic potential differences between the user and the component. This means no damage caused by the tiny discharges that all too often destroy sensitive semiconductors when working with other pliers.
A few words about robustness: KNIPEX manufactures the body of the electronic gripping pliers from oil-hardened ball bearing chrome steel - for extensive longevity of the pliers!
