Terms and Conditions
KNIPEX has launched the 500K challenge and wants to know what you feel, when you’re using KNIPEX tools. There are unique prizes to win!
Organiser:
The contest is being organised by KNIPEX-Werk C. Gustav Putsch KG, Oberkamper Str. 13, 42349 Wuppertal, hereinafter referred to as “KNIPEX”.
Instagram is not associated with the contest and does not endorse, sponsor or organise the contest in any way and is not a contact for the contest.
Prizes:
KNIPEX will be giving away a limited edition of the Needle-Nose Combination Pliers 145 mm with oak handles in a real wood case to the 50 best entries.
The prize is neither transferable nor is it exchangeable and its value cannot be paid out in cash.
Participation:
A person can enter the contest by submitting a photo or video on the provided landing page:
Participation using forged identities or using identities of third parties is not permitted. Each person may only participate with one e-mail address and only with one photo or video. KNIPEX may request further evidence for purposes of verification if necessary.
Only natural persons who have reached the age of 14 are eligible to participate. Participation is not limited to KNIPEX customers and does not require the purchase of a product or service. If a participant has limited legal capacity, the consent of their legal representative is required. KNIPEX employees and their relatives are excluded from the contest.
The photo contest entry period will run from 09th April 2024 at 13:00am until 30th April 2024 at 11:59pm.
KNIPEX would like to point out that the legal name and place of residence (e.g. Max M., Wuppertal) of the winner may be published on the KNIPEX websites and tagged in posts on Instagram and Instagram Stories by the official KNIPEX accounts on Instagram. The participant consents to this by entering the contest.
Determination of the winner, announcement of the winner, allocation and retrieval of the winnings:
The winner will be selected by a jury and community voting from all eligible participants after the end of the contest at an undetermined time, but no later than June 15th 2024, and will be notified via email. After the entry deadline, a jury consisting of KNIPEX employees will select the winner from all entries on the landing page that have received more than 20 likes via community voting. The evaluation will be made at the sole discretion of all persons involved in the selection process. The photo/video and the associated story/ emotion in which the pliers were placed will be judged. The winner will then be notified by KNIPEX via a separate email.
The prize will be sent to the address given when the photo or video was submitted.
The prize will be sent exclusively to the winner. An exchange, a transfer, a self-collection as well as a cash payment of the prize are not possible. Any costs incurred for the dispatch of the prizes will be borne by the organiser.
The winner is responsible for any taxation of the prize.
The claim to the prize will also expire if the winner cannot be reached, if no response is received or if the prize is not accepted after 21 days, calculated from the first announcement of the winner.
Image rights:
By submitting the photo or video, the participant confirms that the image rights to the submitted photo or video belong exclusively to the participant i.e. that in particular no third party can claim rights to the submitted photo or video. The participant also guarantees that all persons visible in the photo or video consent to the publication of the photo or video. KNIPEX shall be granted the non-exclusive, irrevocable right to use the photo or video and to edit the photo or video for this purpose. The aforementioned right shall be unrestricted in terms of time, content and territory.
This right to use the photo or video also includes distribution on KNIPEX’s social media platforms and on the website www.knipex.de and www.knipex.com, as well as publication in KNIPEX’s print publications.
Exclusion from the contest:
KNIPEX reserves the right to exclude participants from the contest if the submitted photo violates applicable law or good taste. This also applies to violations of the Terms and Conditions of Participation as well as attempts to manipulate the contest.
Termination of the contest:
KNIPEX reserves the right to amend these Terms and Conditions of Participation if the amendment is necessary
and reasonable for the participants,
taking into account the interests of KNIPEX. Any amendments will be communicated to the participants in an appropriate form.
KNIPEX also reserves the right to terminate the competition prematurely for good reason, which includes in particular technical, legal and business reasons, without being obliged to give prior notice or to state the reasons.
Applicable law
Questions or complaints related to the contest should be addressed directly to KNIPEX. The contact options for this can be found in the imprint area of the application used. The contest is governed exclusively by the laws of the Federal Republic of Germany, excluding conflict of laws provisions.
Severability clause:
Should any provision of these Terms and Conditions of Participation be or become invalid in whole or in part, this does not affect the validity of the rest of these Terms and Conditions of Participation. The provision which is economically closest to the sense and purpose expressed by the invalid provision applies in lieu of the invalid provision. This provision is applicable mutatis mutandis to any potential loopholes in these Terms and Conditions of Participation.

The personal data provided by the winner in the questionnaire for the prize for the 500K challenge (own first and last name, address, email address and first and last name, address, e-mail address of the chosen accompanying guest) are collected and processed by KNIPEX for the purpose of checking the prize and for the purpose of paying out the prize, pursuant to Art. 6 (1) (b) GDPR (Data processing is necessary for the fulfilment of (pre-)contractual measures). In addition, the GDPR permits the processing of your data pursuant to Art. 6 (1) (f) GDPR (Legitimate interest of the Controller) to ensure the proper implementation of the contest and pursuant to Art. 6 (1) (c) GDPR insofar as the processing is subject to a legal obligation.
The personal data will not be passed on to other third parties.
If the personal data is not provided, KNIPEX will not be able to fulfil the competition contract with you.
Your personal data will be stored by KNIPEX for as long as is necessary for the processing of the contest, in particular the distribution of the prizes. Afterwards, the collected personal data will be deleted by KNIPEX.
You have the following rights in connection with the processing of your personal data:
You have the right pursuant to Art. 15 GDPR to information about the data stored by us.
You have the right pursuant to Art. 16 GDPR to have inaccurate data corrected.
You have the right pursuant to Art. 17 GDPR to have your data deleted if there is no legal reason for further storage.
You have the right pursuant to Art. 18 GDPR to demand a restriction of the processing of your data. This means that your data will still be stored, but only under limited conditions (e.g. with your consent or for the assertion of legal claims).
You have the right pursuant to Art. 20 GDPR, under certain conditions, to receive in a structured, common and machine-readable format the personal data concerning you that you have provided to us, and you have the right to transfer this data to another Controller without hindrance from us.
If you have given KNIPEX consent to data processing, you may revoke your consent at any time with effect for the future. This revocation will not affect the lawfulness of the processing carried out on the basis of the consent until the time of the revocation.
Every data subject has the right pursuant to Art. 77 GDPR to lodge a complaint with a supervisory authority if they believe the processing of the personal data concerning them violates the GDPR.
