Wuppertal, 17th July 2014. For the second time, a large group of KNIPEX employees has successfully completed the vocational machine and plant operator training course (IHK).
The second group of KNIPEX employees - who either had no vocational training or who had vocational training in a different area - began the external test preparation in June 2013. For a whole year, participants were released from their usual work for one week each month by the company, and went to college. The goal was to pass the theory and practical tests this summer.
Participants in this second group were also somewhat sceptical about whether they would be able to meet the challenge of “work and school” – but any such fears were completely unfounded. The high level of motivation, good tutors and the support of the company ultimately produced outstanding results. Eight participants achieved the grade “excellent”, five “good” and two “satisfactory”.
“We are extremely pleased to see how well the measure has been accepted, and the hard work and dedication that staff put into the part-time vocational training. We are very proud that, with them, we are among the best in the test region. That is really a fantastic performance”, says HR Manager Kai Wiedemann.
These great results were of course celebrated together. Staff were handed their test results at a celebration on 24th June 2014. The participants, as well as the company, also thanked the training company EDB (Bildungsgesellschaft für erfolgreiche Berufe GmbH) and Horst Wunderlich (tutor and IHK examiner) for the successful and intensive exam preparation. Without the additional Saturday instruction with Horst Wunderlich, which was initiated by KNIPEX, the results would not have been so outstanding.
“The course was very well-received, so that KNIPEX participants this year were among the best 13 out of a total of 68 people taking the test“, Horst Wunderlich reports with reference to his KNIPEX students.
As a result of the great success of this measure, this will certainly not be the last group of participants that KNIPEX supports with part-time vocational studies.
