Cologne/Wuppertal. Knipex has another award to be pleased about. Knipex was presented with the EISEN 2014 CSR Award for its sustainable activities by the Koelnmesse (Cologne Trade Fair) and the Heimwerken, Bauen und Garten e.V. (DIY, building and garden trade association - BHB ). Two years ago Knipex won the Eisen 2012 Innovation Prize.
The term CSR (Corporate Social Responsibility) is frequently used when referring to “sustainability”, and therefore stands for responsible activities on the part of the enterprise in terms of employees, the environment, products, market and the community.
Members of the jury justified their decision to give the award to KNIPEX-Werk C. Gustav Putsch as follows:
"For KNIPEX, CSR is a fixed component of the company’s mission statement. From encouraging and motivating employees, establishing sustainability standards throughout the supply chain, converting to green electricity, using photovoltaic systems on hall roofs and an electric car as fleet vehicle, recycling 80 percent of waste, voluntary work in the region, through to a stable and systematically implemented business model – KNIPEX has integrated responsibility for the environment and the community into all business processes.”
The prize was presented on 9th March 2014 at the Welcome Party of the INTERNATIONAL HARDWARE TRADE FAIR.
