Typical application areas of the Knipex wire rope cutters include the following: the broken clutch cable of the classic car is replicated – no original parts are available. New handbrake cables on truck trailers are produced from cable sold by the metre. These wire rope cutters are the ideal tool in such cases. With cutting capacities of up to Ø 7 mm in the case of stranded Cu cable and up to Ø 5 mm with hard wire rope, they are suitable for all work in workshops and for installation work.
Press end caps on cables and end sleeves on Bowden sleeves
The Knipex wire rope cutters have two valuable added functions, thereby replacing two tools. The accurately shaped crimping dies for end sleeves and end caps enable Bowden cables and Bowden cable sleeves to be directly assembled after cutting. After shortening, an end sleeve is pressed on to the Bowden cable sleeve to prevent the risk of injuries; the Bowden cable is given the injury protection by pressing on the end cap.
Comfort: adjustable screw joint, opening spring and pawl
With the adjustable bolted joint, permanent zero backlash operation is possible. The space-saving inset opening spring provides added comfort, saving the user one hand movement during each cutting operation. As soon as manual force is withdrawn, it opens the pliers automatically. Those who cut wire rope frequently will quickly learn to value this feature. For transport, the wire rope cutters are secured using the pawl to prevent inadvertent opening.
