Hephaistos

 

 

 

 

Hephaistos was the Greek god of fire and the smith's craft.
His symbols included the pliers and hammer.
The picture shows an Attic vase (ca. 425 BC) illustrating the return of Hephaistos to Olympus, brought back by Dionysos (on the right of the picture). The legend ranks among the most well-known and popular of that time.
