Grabstele von Saint-Roch

Tomb of Saint-Roch. (Esperandieu 1910, 1877; CIL XIII 2739).


The deceased is holding a blacksmith's large tongs (forceps) in his left hand and a bowl in his right hand.
Inscription: D(iis) M(anibus). Martio, which translates as "to the gods of death, to Martius". Width of the stone 40 cm, height 92 cm, depth 17 cm.

Location: Autun, Musée Rolin.
