KNIPEX insulated tools are made of high quality materials and are made and tested in accordance with national and international standards. Taking into consideration of other safety regulations they offer the greatest possible protection for working with live systems with voltages of up to 1000 V AC and 1500 V DC.

Only a trained electrician may work on live systems as described in the relevant safety standards, in Germany, for example, the VDE standard 0105, and he must use specially designed and tested tools for this work.
KNIPEX has developed a comprehensive range of high quality tools for these applications. The insulated tools meet national and international test standards. Not only the KNIPEX quality assurance team, but, for example, the VDE and the professional association continually monitors to ensure these standards are observed.

The IEC 900 requirements and test regulation has specified the requirements on tools for working on live systems all over the world since 1987, whilst DIN EN 60900 makes the above regulation binding for all countries of the EU as from August 1, 1995. Tools which bear the special symbol 1000 V AC have been tested for breakdown resistance with 10,000 V AC.
That means for the user that the tool offers a safety capacity of at least 10 times that of the standard requirement. Safety insulated tools are essential for working on live equipment. Also follow the statutory regulations and the safety instructions.
